Technology-based assistance to improve the well-being of people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias and their caregivers
The aim of this project is to design and implement novel technologies that i) help decision-makers to take the best actions that promote the well-being of people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias in day centers, and ii) assist informal caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias to maintain and improve their quality of life due to the care experience.
Computational Models of Emotions for Virtual Agents
The long-term objective is to develop Computational Models of Emotion (CMEs) capable of imitating the human emotion process. These CMEs are designed to equip virtual agents with emotional capabilities to show human-like behaviors. The short-term objective is to create an integrative framework (InFra) to enable the construction of CMEs whose underlying architectures provide an environment that promotes the interaction between affective and cognitive components implemented by CMEs and cognitive agent architectures, respectively.
A 3D-based platform for virtual agents simulation
The project aims to develop a 3D-based simulation platform that allows users to create virtual escenarios populated with virtual agents. The purpose of this platform is to provide 3D visualizations of simulated situations of virtual agents whose behaviors are directed by external modules that are programmed by different researchers using any programming language and/or platforms.
